STAMPlorations - You & Me

STAMPlorations is celebrating a new stamp set You and Me.  I made a valentine card and a CAS wedding card:

For the valentine's card I embossed one of the main images with gold Zing embossing powder. I colored it in with my Zig Clean Color brush markers. I added a few star sequins, cut it out with a stitched rectangle die and mounted it to a white card base.

Using the You and Me set again, I created a CAS wedding card. I used a Sizzix embossing folder and embossed the front panel. I then stamped the Mr & Mrs with Candied Apple distress ink and mounted the panel onto a red card base.

STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge - Reminder

I am posting another card for the STAMPlorations December CAS Card Challenge - a reminder that the challenge is still on until the end of the month.

Here is a sample that will hopefully inspire you to play with us and also to get those last minute holiday cards done!

I used the STAMPlorations Framed Poinsettia stamp set (retired). The image was stamped onto a tag cut with Pretty Pink Posh tag die cut, embossed with gold embossing powder and watercolored with a Zig Clean Color Brush pen.  I adhered the tag with foam tape to an embossed card front. I designed this card last year and liked it so much I made a bunch more for this year!

I had a hard time getting a photo that would show of the embossed background and the shiny gold ink.

Here is another photo where you can see the embossing better:

I used a holiday Darice embossing folder for the main panel and stamped the sentiment from STAMP{lorations Peace Love Joy (retired) stamp set with Gold Delicata ink. I cut out the panel with a stitched rectangle die and then attached the panel to a piece of PaperTrey gold designer paper.

ARTplorations Stencil Blog Hop

Today the STAMPlorations design teams are featuring new stencils designed by our team member Sanna Lippert with a blog hop!  Here is some blog hop information for you:
  • Commenting closes on December 4, Monday
  • Prizes: (1) winner of $20 gift certificate, (2) winners of their choice of 3 Sanna Lippert Designs stencils
  • Winners will be randomly drawn from comments left on the STAMPlorations blog and participating designers blogs

I have created a few cards using the Senecia 1 stencil and the Leaves 2 stencil:

This first card is basically a one layer card using the stencil in the standard way: blending Distress inks with a blending tool. The sentiment is from Trendy Feathers (retired set).

I used the Leaves 2 stencil to create a background. I already had a watercolored card front so I blended distress ink with the stencil over the water color. I used my stitched rectangle dies and cut out two pieces of the panel and layered them onto the black card front. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Fond Expressions 2 set and the dragonfly from the Dragonfly Layering set.

This last card is my favorite. I blended Distress Oxide Inks on a watercolor panel. I then sprayed water onto the Senecia 2 stencil and carefully laid the stencil wet side down onto the blended panel. I used a paper towel to press the stencil into the paper and to mop up any excess water before I removed the stencil. The water removes the ink and the open or positive part of the stencil remains the original color (the darker portions). I used a Penny Black border die on the card front and then layered a portion of the watercolored and stenciled panel on top. The sentiment is from Trendy Feathers (retired set).

Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a gift certificate or some stencils! Thanks for coming by!

STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge - Mid Month Reminder

There is still time to play in the STAMPlorations November CAS Card Challenge. Here is another card sample that I created:

This is a one layer card. I used the Leaf Print ARTplorations stencil and masked off the card front on both sides to create a narrow panel. I used some Distress inks and an ink blending tool to color in the stencil. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations Trendy Feathers (retired). I added a little 3D butterfly sticker from Little B. I also colored over the leaves with a clear Wink of Stella pen but you can't really see that in this photo.
